In the age of college athletics, when universities are eliminating golf programs as part of cost-cutting efforts, with the support of GameAbove, Eastern Michigan has done the opposite.

In the current landscape of college sports, many universities are cutting their golf programs to save money, but Eastern Michigan has taken a different approach. Thanks to GameAbove, a privately owned global investment firm focused on sports, entertainment, and philanthropy, which is operated by a group of EMU graduates, the Eagles boast one of the largest NIL budgets in the sport, competing at a level comparable to a Power 4 program rather than a mid-major. This investment reaches a significant milestone on Monday, as EMU participates in its first NCAA Regional as the fifth seed in Tallahassee.
