A New Look for EMU Golf: GameAbove Takes the Course in 2026-27

When Eastern Michigan University’s men’s and women’s golf teams take the course during the 2026-27 season, their competition apparel will carry a new mark: GameAbove.

GameAbove will serve as the official apparel patch sponsor for both EMU Golf programs, placing its logo on the apparel worn by student-athletes throughout the upcoming season.

The sponsorship arrives at a significant moment for EMU Golf. The programs are attracting greater attention through competitive performance, improved resources and an expanding presence on the collegiate golf stage. For GameAbove, the apparel patch offers a visible way to align with that momentum during the 2026-27 season.

A Program Earning National Attention

EMU Women’s Golf delivered a historic performance in 2026, advancing to the NCAA Championship semifinals and finishing tied for third nationally.

The team also became the first NCAA Division I program in Michigan to compete in and win a national match play match. That achievement placed EMU among the country’s leading women’s golf programs and brought increased attention to its student-athletes, coaches and competitive progress.

“GameAbove believes in leading where we see meaningful opportunity,” said Keith J. Stone, chairman and founder of GameAbove. “EMU Golf has earned national attention and offers meaningful value for brands that want to be associated with performance and student-athlete success. This sponsorship gives GameAbove a visible presence alongside two programs that are competing at a high level during an important moment for collegiate golf.”

A New Stage for Brand Visibility

Commercial apparel patches are creating new opportunities across Division I athletics. For brands, they provide direct visibility in competition while connecting sponsorship activity with student-athletes, university programs and engaged sports audiences.

During the 2026-27 season, the GameAbove patch will be visible across official EMU Golf competition apparel, team photography, digital content, social media, media coverage, conference championships and national events.

The sponsorship demonstrates how brands can engage with high-performing collegiate programs through an asset integrated directly into the competitive environment.

“GameAbove has played a major role in helping elevate EMU Golf, and we are pleased to have the organization represented on our competition apparel during the 2026-27 season,” said Dan McLean, EMU Golf general manager. “Our student-athletes are competing at a high level, and this sponsorship reflects the visibility and commercial interest our men’s and women’s programs have earned.”

The Support Behind the Moment

GameAbove has previously provided significant support to Eastern Michigan’s golf programs.

In 2024, EMU announced a $6.5 million commitment from GameAbove to support men’s and women’s golf, bringing GameAbove’s total support for EMU Golf to more than $14.5 million at that time.

GameAbove also helped make possible the GameAbove Golf Performance Center at Eagle Crest Golf Course. The 13,000-square-foot facility supports year-round player development, advanced performance analysis, team operations and recruiting.

The apparel patch sponsorship adds a new, highly visible element to the 2026-27 season as EMU’s men’s and women’s teams prepare to compete with growing attention on their programs.
