YPSILANTI, MI — GameAbove is proud to support Eastern Michigan University’s upcoming Digital Divas Conference, returning on Friday, October 24, 2025, at the EMU Student Center. The event, hosted by the GameAbove College of Engineering and Technology, will welcome more than 300 high school girls for a day of hands-on exploration and inspiration across science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM).

Since its inception in 2010, Digital Divas has reached more than 10,000 young women from southeast Michigan, helping bridge the diversity gap in STEM through mentorship, access, and experiential learning. The conference is designed to expose students to real-world applications of STEM careers—showing them that innovation, leadership, and creativity are within their reach.

“Digital Divas aims to bridge the diversity gap in STEM,” said Mohamad Qatu, dean of the GameAbove College of Engineering and Technology, in remarks originally shared by EMU. “We focus on inspiring young women to become innovators, creators, and leaders by showcasing a wide array of career opportunities in STEM, empowering them to confidently enter the tech industry and make an impact with their unique perspectives and talents.”

This year’s program features interactive sessions and demonstrations across aviation, chemistry, cybersecurity, electrical engineering, esports, and interior design, hosted by EMU faculty, students, and industry partners. Schools attending include Airport High School, Denby High School, Pontiac Academy for Excellence, Ypsilanti STEMM Middle College, and more.

Supported by GameAbove and partners including the DTE Foundation, Toyota, Wacker, ITC, and the American Association of University Women Ann Arbor Branch, Digital Divas represents a shared commitment to building stronger educational pipelines and expanding access for women in technical fields.

“When we invest in opportunities like Digital Divas, we’re investing in the next generation of thinkers and doers,” said a GameAbove spokesperson. “These young women represent the future workforce—and the future innovators—who will drive Michigan and our world forward.”
