GameAbove Golf-sponsored athlete Brett White used a late-season surge to finish No. 99 and secure conditional Korn Ferry Tour status for 2027.

A late-season charge moved the GameAbove Golf-sponsored athlete inside the Korn Ferry Tour’s top-100 threshold.
Brett White entered the closing stretch of the 2026 Korn Ferry Tour season with little room for error. He responded with one of his strongest performances of the year and earned another opportunity to compete at a high level in 2027.
White finished the season at No. 99 on the official Korn Ferry Tour Points List, securing conditional status for 2027. The final standings, confirmed following the Korn Ferry Tour Championship on Oct. 11, awarded conditional status to the top 100 players.
The result extends a journey defined by persistence and gives the Grand Rapids, Michigan, native and Eastern Michigan University alumnus an important place to build from next season.
A Timely Performance in Columbus
White’s defining move came at the Nationwide Children’s Hospital Championship in Columbus, Ohio.
He began the tournament at No. 126 on the season-long points list. With only the top 100 advancing to the next Korn Ferry Tour Finals event and retaining conditional status for 2027, White needed a significant result.
He delivered four rounds at par or better, shooting 68, 65, 71 and 67 to finish 13 under. His tie for seventh moved him 27 positions, from No. 126 to No. 99.
The performance was White’s first top-10 finish of the 2026 Korn Ferry Tour season. More importantly, it placed him just inside the status threshold. When the season concluded three weeks later, he remained No. 99.
The margin illustrates both the difficulty of professional golf and the importance of producing when opportunities narrow. White finished less than one point ahead of the player at No. 100 and approximately 23 points ahead of No. 101, the first position outside the conditional-status line.
Building Through a Demanding Season
White made 24 Korn Ferry Tour starts in 2026, recording three top-25 finishes and official earnings of $94,569. He tied for 19th at the Memorial Health Championship before a late push in Columbus.
Those numbers tell only part of the story.
White’s professional career has repeatedly required him to find a path forward. After suffering from viral encephalitis nine years ago, he faced an extensive recovery that included relearning basic physical and cognitive skills. He eventually returned to competitive golf and continued progressing through the professional ranks.
In 2025, White won the Commissionaires Ottawa Open on PGA Tour Americas after shooting a final-round 59 and prevailing in a playoff. That victory became another significant step in his return to the Korn Ferry Tour.
His 2026 finish now keeps him on that tour for the coming season. Conditional status differs from full exemption and doesn't guarantee entry into every event, but it gives White access under the Korn Ferry Tour’s eligibility and priority procedures.
A Michigan Connection That Continues
White’s progress matters especially to GameAbove Golf.
As an Eastern Michigan University graduate, White represents the connection between GameAbove’s support for individual golfers and its broader investment in the game's development. That work includes support for EMU golf, the GameAbove Golf Performance Center, and a growing portfolio of golf-focused companies and initiatives.
White’s season also reminds us that athlete development rarely follows a straight line. Progress can be measured in victories and low rounds, but it can also be found in earning the next start, preserving status and creating another season of opportunity.
By moving inside the top 100 at the highest stakes, White did exactly that.
He will enter 2027 with conditional Korn Ferry Tour status, another year of experience, and a clear example of what timely performance can make possible.
