GameAbove is a growing strategic investor in golf and has become a presenting sponsor of the 2026 Michigan Women’s Open

THOMPSONVILLE – GameAbove has joined Coca-Cola as a presenting sponsor for the 2026 Michigan Women’s Open presented by Coca-Cola and GameAbove.
It’s the latest development in what promises to be a landmark year for the championship that will be played June 30-July 2 for the 33rd time, and for the 24th consecutive year at Crystal Mountain.
GameAbove is a growing strategic investor in golf. Its brand, GameAbove Golf has investments in multiple golf brands, including McLaren Golf, PLATFORM Golf and CHIP’d Golf, and it manages several professional golfers.
Jordan Young, a national award-winning Michigan PGA teaching professional, is the director of golf operations at GameAbove. He said he’s thrilled for GameAbove’s support of the Michigan Women’s Open - a long-standing and successful event that represents a natural fit for female athletes.
“Our current sponsorship of 2022 champion Sarah White, and support for twin golfers Janae and Jasmine Leovao, truly prompted our involvement this year,” he said. “This event reflects our strong Michigan ties and commitment to empowering female athletes. By partnering with Crystal Mountain, we are highlighting a world-class venue and supporting the incredible momentum behind women’s professional golf as the game continues to grow.”
Coca-Cola has been a sponsor of the Michigan Women’s Open since its first year at Crystal Mountain. The 2026 championship, which also has strong local supporting sponsors, will also have a pro-am event on June 29.
Crystal Mountain will host the tournament again on its signature course, Mountain Ridge, which was named the 2025 Michigan Golf Course of the Year by the Michigan Golf Course Association.
“GameAbove is a perfect partner as we work to take this event to the next level,” Mark Fenech, Crystal Mountain’s director of golf, said. “Their commitment to supporting athletes and giving back to Michigan communities is exactly what we’re all about at Crystal Mountain. With GameAbove choosing this tournament to support, they’re helping aspiring female pros chase their dreams and shining a light on the exceptional golf we have at Crystal Mountain and in Michigan.”
The Michigan PGA created the Women’s Open 33 years ago and will once again administer the competition.
In October, the ANNIKA Women’s All-Pro Tour (WAPT) announced its partnership with Crystal Mountain and the Michigan PGA establishing the state championship as an official event on the ANNIKA schedule in 2026. The tour is dedicated to providing a competitive platform for professional women golfers to develop their skills on a pathway to the LPGA.
In addition to added sponsorship, enhanced prize money and the coveted tournament title, the event will also provide the top two finishers with an exemption into an LPGA Epson Tour event during the 2026 season. Points and money earned at the tournament will be official on the tour’s season-long Callaway Race 2 Qualifying program, where the top five athletes earn Epson Tour status and advancement to Stage two of LPGA Qualifying.
"By joining forces with the ANNIKA tour and having the tremendous support of Coca-Cola and now GameAbove as well, we have a championship that is sure to benefit players, fans, and the entire golf community,” Kevin Helm, Michigan PGA executive director, said. “This will truly be a pivotal year in women’s professional golf in our state.”
Epson Tour player Jessica Welch is returning as the defending champion. The Georgia golfer has won the last two Women’s Opens. Several Michigan amateurs and professionals have entered the championship, which also includes a Legends Division for senior golfers age 50-plus. Michigan Golf Hall of Fame member Suzy Green Roebuck of Ann Arbor, two-time defending champion in the Legends Division and a three-time winner of the Michigan Women’s Open, is also returning. Of the 132 golfers in the starting field, 80 will be ANNIKA WAPT members.
