GameAbove celebrates the monumental success of their recent Gamers for Giving fundraiser.
YPSILANTI—GameAbove proudly announces a $100,000 donation to Gamers Outreach and celebrates the monumental success of their recent "Gamers for Giving" fundraiser held at the George Gervin GameAbove Center from April 5-7, 2024. The annual event witnessed an extraordinary gathering of video game enthusiasts who rallied to raise over $1.25 million for charity.
Gamers for Giving is an event that brings hundreds of passionate gamers together for a weekend of friendly competition and community building. As supporters of the gaming community, GameAbove understands the significance of events like this in utilizing gaming's positive influence to support charitable causes.
"Participating in the 'Gamers for Giving' fundraiser is not just about playing video games; it's about making a meaningful impact on the lives of others," said Chao Sun, President of GameAbove Giving. "We are thrilled to see the incredible generosity of the gaming community firsthand as they come together to support hospitalized families and bring joy to those in need."
The funds raised during the event will support Gamers Outreach's various initiatives, including therapeutic equipment such as the "GO Karts" (Gamers Outreach Karts). These karts offer portable gaming experiences for patients and their families. Additionally, donations will contribute to programs like "Save Point," which provides toys and prizes to children through innovative vending machines installed in hospitals.
